Tranquillité
The introduction holds two discreet nods: a tribute in sound to Jean-Michel Jarre, and a few unmistakable notes borrowed from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The piece then settles into a warm, welcoming atmosphere, where a beautiful cello passage comes to rest at the heart of the electronic textures, carried by soft layers of strings.
Snowy Walk and Sleigh Ride
The idea here was to write for a classical orchestra on the theme of Christmas. In my youth I played the trumpet in a symphony orchestra, and I wanted to immerse myself once more in that very particular atmosphere. Forty-five instruments are at work here, made possible by music software for the orchestration and by the synthesiser for the sound.
Pop Hilarité
An invented title, bending the French popularité just enough to let hilarité — hilarity — be heard. That says it all: joyful, sparkling pop, asking for nothing more than to bring a smile and a little lightness to the day.
Paix
Paix — peace — is a suspended moment, made of tranquillity and serenity. This music is meant as an invitation to feel well, to breathe slowly and to let calm settle in.
Classical Medley
A reworking and blending of three great moments of the classical repertoire: the second movement of Vivaldi's Winter, the aria of the Queen of the Night by Mozart, and the finale of his famous Turkish March. A journey in miniature through some of the best-loved pages of classical music, gathered here in a single breath on the synthesiser.
Joie
A composition given over entirely to joy. The introduction opens on the guitar, in a light intimacy, before the theme unfolds little by little, joined by other instruments that enrich and amplify its momentum. Like a joy that is born very quietly, then blossoms into something shared.
Expectative
I gave the piece this name because it is precisely the feeling that runs through me as I listen to it — that suspended waiting, that slight inner tremor watching for what is about to come, without knowing yet what it will be.
Égypte
I imagined myself in the middle of the desert, on the back of a camel. That is why the tempo is slow, each step beating the measure. At the start of the journey the atmosphere is still hushed, then the drums gradually come to accompany us on the way. A grandeur then announces itself, at once heard and imagined — the grandeur of vast spaces crossed, of endless dunes, and of time stretching out with every step.
Évocation
A romantic, sorrowful music, touched with melancholy. The theme takes its time to speak, like a memory revived delicately, without hurrying it. A sweetness tinged with regret, which leaves everyone free to lay their own story upon it.
Espoir
A very lovely theme devoted to hope, rising little by little. Light and delicate at first, almost whispered, it gains in breadth until it becomes grandiose in its finale — as though hope itself were growing as the piece goes on, until it bursts into full light.
Espérance
A theme about the expectation of a happy event, shot through with a gentle nostalgia. The music turns narrative, as if telling a story: that of a luminous waiting, where the memory of a tender past mingles with the promise of what might come.
Silent Night
A version of the famous Christmas carol — Douce Nuit in French — in an instrumental reading on the synthesiser. I wanted to preserve all its tenderness, its simplicity, and that hushed atmosphere particular to festive evenings, when the snow falls softly and time seems to stop.
Ballade
A musical walk by the water, under the cover of the forests, in the silence of churches and at the heart of nature. Like a quiet wandering where every step is a wonder — long live the walk!
Calme
A meditative music, conceived as a background that soothes without imposing itself. Ideal for meditation, for reading, for yoga, or simply to accompany a moment of presence to oneself.
Ascension
A music that rises, that climbs, that gains in height. The athlete ascending the mountain, the bird taking flight towards the sky, the steps of a great staircase, the gaze turned towards the sun — so many images of one and the same elevation, inner and outer, which this piece seeks to accompany.
